<P><B>TORINO, Italy (AP) -- </B>Michelle Kwan dropped out of the Torino Games on Sunday morning because of a groin injury, bringing her quest for that elusive Olympic gold to its most disappointing end yet.</P>
<P>Kwan cut short her first practice at the games Saturday after aggravating the groin injury. Though she said she didn't want to drop out, the injury worsened as the day went on. After being evaluated early Sunday by Dr. Jim Moeller, she decided to withdraw.</P>
<P>"Taking myself off the team is the most difficult decision I've ever had to make,'' Kwan said in a release, "but it's the right decision. This injury prevents me from skating my best, and I've said all along that if I couldn't skate to the level that I expected from myself I'd withdraw from the team.</P>
<P>"The Olympics is the greatest sporting event in the world and what's most important is that the United States fields the strongest team possible. As much as I'd love to represent the United States in Torino, I would never stand in the way of that.''</P>
<P>The U.S. Olympic Committee has asked to replace Kwan with Emily Hughes, the third-place finisher at last month's national championships. A response was expected later this week, and Hughes was to travel to Torino on Sunday.</P>
<P>"If they call me, I'm ready. Just point me in the direction and I'm there,'' Hughes told WNBC-TV in New York in an interview on Saturday.</P>
<P>Kwan missed last month's U.S. nationals with a groin injury, and needed a medical bye onto the Torino team. Moeller said Sunday he does not believe the current injury is related to the groin problem Kwan had during the national championships.</P>
<P>This was to be the last chance at an Olympic gold for the 25-year-old Kwan, the face of figure skating for the last decade. Though she won five world championships and nine U.S. titles, she always came up short at the Olympics, winning a silver medal in 1998 and a bronze in 2002.</P>

我其实不大搞得清关的想法，坦白说我有些怀疑关生病这种说法的真实性，即便是真的病了，有没有不能参赛这么严重！要知道，长时间在冰场上训练的人，不是那么容易就因为冷而病得不能比赛的！不过既然关决定退出，那也是给了emilie一个机会，小朋友加油吧，看能不能持续她姐的辉煌！ 偶比较关心唐兄啊。。。要挺住啊。。。。。。。。<br>我没言语了。。。<br> 即使是现在生病了也比一定要退出啊．女单比赛是最后比的，距离现在还有一段时间啊！难道就病的那么重？？？ <br>

<P> 关颖珊１１日曾透露，由于她在<a href="http://2008.sohu.com/2006torino/" target="_blank" ><FONT color=#0071ae>冬奥</FONT></A>会开幕式上露天久坐而导致身体不适，她不排除退出女子单人滑比赛的可能。</P>
<P> ２５岁的关颖珊是９次全美锦标赛的女子单人滑冠军，并５次在世锦赛上封后，但她至今未获得过<a href="http://2008.sohu.com/" target="_blank" >奥运</A>会金牌，而是在１９９８年和２００２年冬奥会上夺得两枚银牌。</P>
<P> 在今年的冬奥会美国队选拔赛上，关颖珊因伤病没有参加，但仍然获得<a href="http://2008.sohu.com/2006torino/" target="_blank" ><FONT color=#0071ae>都灵冬奥会</FONT></A>的特批参赛资格。

<P>我的看法和GTXYS一样.她主要的原因还是因为伤病的影响,她觉得没有恢复到满意的状态,很可能会出现97NATIONAL的状况.总之这是一个没有关的赛季节,对关很残酷,对我们也比较残酷.
<P>但也可能关会参加WORLD 甚至多滑两年呢.
<P>关这么早作出决定，怕也是给Emily更多的时间准备吧。</P>
