Stéphane Lambiel, you do a show in Basel - because it is fun or because it's a good business?
你在Basel演出－是因为觉得有意思还是因为这是笔好买卖？
Of course I earn money with this show too. But the whole program is about fun. Even though I make an effort, doing the show doesn't feel like working.
当然我也通过演出挣钱。不过整个（演出）计划都很有趣。虽然我在干活，但在表演时没觉得是在工作。
How do you feel the audience?
观众如何？
Compared to competitions I have much more time to feel the audience during a show. The stress in a competition is much higher, every second is about gathering points.
比起在赛场上，表演里我有更多时间感受到观众的存在。在比赛中压力更大，每一秒钟都和分数有关。
Is the success of a competition only defined by the result?
比赛的成功只取决于结果吗？
Not at all. There has to stay more than the victory. When I won Skate Canada a year ago I didn't enjoy that victory. I had not shown on the ice what I had imagined.
根本不是。有比获胜更重要的事。我一年前赢得加拿大站的冠军，可那时并不开心。我没有在冰上展现出我想做的。
And how big is the joy about victories when skaters like Olympic champion Jewgeni Plushenko or World Champion Brian Joubert are not taking part?
赢得没有奥运冠军Plushenko或者世界冠军Joubert参加的比赛，你获胜的兴奋感如何？
I don't enjoy a victory less because someone is not there. And: Les absents ont toujours tort.

Don't you miss the duel with Plushenko?
你难道不想和Plushenko一决高下？
I'd appreciate his comeback. That would be good for skating, but also for me. The stronger the rivalry, the better I skate. But I don't know how strong he would be after a comeback. Coming back after such a long break must be difficult.
我会为他的归来鼓掌。对花滑，对我都是个好事。对手越强我滑的越好。但我不知道他回来状态有多好。这么长时间间隔后再回来肯定是个难事。
In the current season you had difficulties before winning the GPF in a convincing way last week. Are you prepared to skate for the title of European Champion starting from January 21st in Zagreb?

I want to win this title and I have the possibility to do so. But I'm glad I have some weeks to go.

What is missing then?

Nothing. It's all on the table. But I need to glue the parts together.

Why is the start of a season so difficult for you?
为什么赛季的一开始对你来说都很困难？
I plan for the Euros in January and the Worlds in March. What is before that is for preparation. Of course I'd like to be on top there too - but it doesn't always work.
我准备1月份的欧锦赛和3月份的世锦赛。在之前都是做准备。当然我想得冠军－但那不一定每次都行。
Is it a matter of exercise or a matter for the head?
是因为训练还是因为想保持冠军？
Probably both. I'm not a machine and there's only one Roger Federer.

You also skate in the whole world in front of big audiences. Do you compare yourself with Roger Federer?

Oh no. He's on another level. I've not seen such achievements from another sportsman. I'm a big fan of him. To me he's like a God.

Last January you skipped the Euros and you had a time-out. Are all problems and doubts of this time out of the way?

Yes, everything's ok. This time-out was the best thing for me. You know, up to 2006 it had always been my goal to become Olympic and World Champion. After that season I was double World Champion and Olympic silver medallist. I had to digest this, to class these achivements, understand myself and my entourage. I managed to do this during this break. I now know again which goals I want to achieve in sport. And I also know that I still need the competition.

Nothing. The entourage is the same, the rhythm is the same. But all this is right for me again. On my computer I have a picture of a bull as a background image. I think of this before every competition, I remember that I need to fight.

That time-out wasn't the first surprising decision in your career. You are said to be a capricious diva, very stubborn and extravagant. Is this true?

?h?m... that's right. I am what you see, I don't have a facade. I'm not easy: I arrive too late, I cannot hide my feelings. And I feel great for hours, but fall into a hole from a minute to the other. My emotional state can be very much up and down. That makes my life as sportsman more difficult: training is all about being precise and repeating the same thing. That's not always easy for me.
啊哈。。。。可以说是。你看到的都是我，我没有幌子可以打。我不是一直都很随和：我迟到了，我无法隐藏自己的想法。我有时几个小时都感觉很棒，但说不定一分钟后就掉进冰窟。我的情绪的起伏很大。这样也使我的运动员生涯更加困难：因为训练都是要求准确，和重复做一件事。对我来说不是一直都容易的事。
How does your entourage support you?
你周围的人怎样支持你？
I'm lucky that my entourage knows me by now. And me trainer Peter Grütter and my choreographer Salomé Brunner know how to react to me in order to keep me at it.

No, I think it's quite exhausting. Not only at work but also in life.

On the good days yes. But not always on bad days. But I have to say that I understand myself better now than two years before.

How does a bad Lambiel day look like?

I distract myself, I lie on the bed and listen to music, do something with my computer, watch DVD, go shopping or to the movies.

Switzerland was busy with the voting out of Christoph Blocher, were you too?
I was abroad and couldn't follow this live. But of course I noticed it.

Are you a political person?
你热衷政治吗？
My sport is quite absorbing. But I take part in votings, I also took part in the elections last October.

Is that good if I say that?

It depends.

Skating is said to be something for girls. Does this bother you?
很多人说滑冰很女气，你有没有被这个想法困扰过？
No. But this clich?isnt' true. No one would say art is only for women. Whoever says skating is only for girls doesn't understand my art.
没有。这种说法并不是事实。没人能说艺术只属于女人。那些说滑冰是女气项目的家伙们并不理解我的艺术。
You announced to stop competing after the Olympics in Vancouver 2010. You'll be 25 then...
你声明说打算2010年冬奥会后退役，那时你已经25岁了……
In skating you grow old soon. Or to put it this way: I start to be gradually a senior now. At the beginning everything is easy, you are fresh and want to achieve everything. The time when I was like this is already over. It's more difficult for me now. I don't know what happens in two years. But I really believe that I will develop in another direction then.
滑冰圈里运动员老得很快的……或者可以这么说：我已经逐渐成人。一开始的时候，一切都很轻松，作为年轻的新上位选手，你想着去完成所有的事……对我来说那样的日子已经结束，现在比从前要困难了。我不知道两年内还会发生什么，不过我相信我一定会在其他的方面有所提高。
What are your plans?
你对未来有什么打算？
I will continue to skate in shows. But I'd like to present something more than different programs. I'd like to tell a story, a kind of a musical on ice. At the same time I can imagine to work for an event agency and to organize such events.
我肯定会继续表演。但是我更想表现一些除了不同节目之外的东西。我想在冰上叙述一个故事，或者表现一部音乐剧。同时我也可能为一些表演经纪公司工作，以这样的形式组织表演。

Saxon. That's where I've grown up, there's my family and I still feel very good there. I'm a person who feels strong connections to his homeland.

Mineral water. I don't like beer too much because it takes too long before you get funny. If you had mentioned Tequila instead of Beer, I wouldn't have chosen mineral water.

Singing or painting?
唱歌还是绘画？
Singing. I love Karaoke and I have the game "Singstar" at home. Most of the time I try the songs from Radiohead or I sing "Knockin' on heaven's door". I have no idea if I am on the pitch. But I definitely have rhythm in my blood.
唱歌。我很喜欢去KTV，家里还有“歌星”的游戏。我常唱Radiohead的歌，或者那首“Knock’in on heaven’s door”。我也不知道是不是唱对调了，不过节奏感的的确确的存在于我的血液里。
Street parade or Schwingfest?
街头欢庆游行还是摔跤大赛？（注：瑞士摔跤大赛，一种传统的节日庆祝活动）
I haven't been to any of them. But Schwingfest, because I like traditions.
我两个都没有见过。不过，摔跤大赛吧，我喜欢传统。 |
