Johnny Weir and his husband, Victor Voronov, recently adopted a puppy, a Japanese Chin named Tyoma. “He’s white and blond—I’ll show you,” Weir told VF Daily at the American Ballet Theatre spring gala Tuesday night, digging his phone from his Hermès Birkin bag. VF Daily can confirm that the dog is indeed adorable—and we noted that neither gent had white dog hair on his black tuxedo jacket. “We have lint rollers,” Voronov said. “And I’m very clean,” Weir added.

The puppy, Weir says, is the sweetest thing in their house: “He is very straight, he loves women, he loves when all of our girlfriends come over. He’s got a really hairy chest, and he’s learning to bark. He goes on the paper every single time—very clever, very clean and accurate like a Japanese man.” Adding the new family member was the result of a compromise: Voronov agreed to the puppy if Weir would rein in his shopping habit for six months. So far, he’s had mixed success. “I just got a Chanel cashmere onesie from What Goes Around Comes Around—vintage, from the 70s!” Weir chirped. “I can’t wait to debut it.” And how to justify that to his husband? “Victor was, like, ‘You’re never going to skate in that.’ I was like, ‘This is a costume!’”

The pair bantered about Weir’s habit: “My mother told him that I shop to fill a void,” Weir said. “I’m the void,” Voronov said with a shrug. “So now he thinks I’m offending him when I buy something,” Weir added. As for pet logistics, Voronov does most of the puppy training, and Weir cleans up after him and takes him for runs. “I wear my sports bra; he wears a little bandana. We’re good,” he says.

The puppy does not sleep in the bed with the couple because Voronov does not like to be naked in front of the dog. “It’s like my child. It shouldn’t see that,” he explained. “We have a healthy sex life, so I don’t want the dog to interfere with that,” Weir said.
狗狗没有睡在他俩的卧室里，因为Victor不想让狗狗看到他裸体。Victor说：“它是我儿子，小孩子不能看到这个。“我们性生活和谐，不想让Tyoma打扰”， Johnny说
