"It was really nice, after 10 months of not competing it feels great to be back in this atmosphere, and we're just really enjoying it. . . Justthe energy of the nationals building, there's always some sort of buzz," Virtue said. "Yes, it felt like a very long time (away)."
Virtue, from London, Ont., and Moir, from Ilderton, Ont., haven't competed since they won silver at the world championships last springin Sweden. Virtue had surgery in October for chronic externalcompartment syndrome, an overuse injury that caused pain in her shins.
"I'm quite close (to 100 per cent), I'm feeling really strong, and my shins feel great," Virtue said.
Whilethe 19-year-old Virtue recovered, Moir, 21, trained alone at their basein Detroit, substituting props such as hockey sticks and sandbags for his partner (^_^). Virtue finally was able to return to the ice six weeks ago.
"We've been craving this for the last little while, and we're really, really looking forward to Friday and Saturday," Moir said. "To get a little taste tonight was nice."
Virtue and Moir skate their shortprogram - the Charleston - on Friday. They'll unveil an innovative new long program to music from Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" on Saturday.
"I think both of our programs are a step in a new direction for us," Moir said. "The OD (original dance) . . .we can really get into the character of the 1920s, and the free dance is very contemporary, very modern, so again it's outside of our comfort zone. But we've had a lot of fun working on them and I hope the audience likes it."
OD练习图片,在上面的采访里Scott说,他们这次的OD是20年代的查尔斯顿舞(跟DW的舞种相同)
