Olympian Johnny Weir to Join EQCA Fundraiser

Los Angeles- Olympian Johnny Weir will join Equality California at an upcoming private reception benefiting the organization and supporting its efforts to achieve full equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender Californians. Hosted at Xorin Balbes' restored historic home in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, the event is set to take place the evening of Sunday, April 18.

"We are honored and thrilled to have Olympian Johnny Weir partner with Equality California and take a vocal stand for LGBT equality," said EQCA Executive Director Geoff Kors. "It's wonderful that he is using his platform as a highly-acclaimed, internationally recognized talent to help increase awareness and support for equal rights for LGBT community members."

Johnny Weir, a professional figure skater, has gained worldwide acclaim as a three-time national champion and member of the 2010 US Olympic team. He also currently stars on the Sundance Channel's reality TV show "Be Good Johnny Weir."

看到自传感觉下赛季浮云了……不过如果他真退了，也很理解。现行的规则和裁判风气应该让他蛮灰心的吧。

据说少爷书的出版时间定了，将于2011年的1月上架，不知道通过什么渠道能够买到书

呵呵，果然要出书了，预计2011年1月上架，书名尚未确定。

Simon & Schuster imprint Gallery Books announced today that it will publish a yet-to-be-titled book from Weir, featuring a collection of anecdotes and essays on skating, fashion, pop culture and the author himself. It’s scheduled for a January 2011 release. “His book will be all things Johnny — vivacious, stylish, honest and one-of-a-kind,” said Jennifer Bergstrom, vice president and editor-in-chief of Gallery Books, in a statement.
