Figure skater Kim Yu-na to perform hip-hop number
Figure skating fans will soon be treated to an intriguing mix of Kim Yu-na's smooth, fluid movements and throbbing beats of hip-hop.
The 20-year-old is set to reveal a new hip-hop inspired gala program at the Samsung Anycall Hauzen 2010 All That Skate Summer, held in Ilsan from July 23 through 25.
Kim's agency All That Sports revealed that Kim left for Toronto last May to work with choreographer David Wilson to prepare a program titled 'Bulletproof.'
"I really liked the song 'Bulletproof' the first time I heard it," Wilson said. "We were looking for a song that is different but appealing to the general public, and 'Bulletproof' was the perfect match for us."
'Bulletproof,' according to Wilson, will showcase "both the charming and strong sides of Kim."
To prepare for the new program she also worked with famous hip-hop choreographer Clarence Ford.
The show will also feature other renowned skaters including Michelle Kwan, Sacha Cohen and Silvia Fontana as well as younger players such as Kwak Min-jung and Kim Hae-jin.
