We're happy that we got 3rd place there were mistakes, but that's how we skated.
Q: Can you compare the experience to the Olympics - both the skating, the result and the content?
Smirnov: Every competition is different, we tried hard, we tried a quad. Not everything worked, but we're content with the placement and with each other.
Q: Congratulations. Would it be possible to tell us your plans for the future?
Smirnov We plan continue working with more enthusiasm, more power. But we're not going to tell everything. Come and see us next year.
Q: Yuko, can you remember when you were falling twice at one night. What happened tonight?
Kawaguti : Yes, I remember. It was just a fall, it was not something that happened.
Q: Who decided to go for the quad?
Kawaguti : The three of us.
P/T
Q: It was a special title, the centennial one. How do you feel?
Tong : First of all we're very happy that could skate here again; the same place in Palavela where we skated before. Of course we're happy to win the second time. Also the public is very supportive.
S/S
Q: After the short you said you weren't very happy about the result. Was tonight better?
Szolkowy : Tonight was obviously better. We're happy how we skated, we were able to show our elements. Of course we had a small small mistake in the beginning , but it was a long season, and we're glad that eventually got the beautiful programs and had a good skate.
Q: Was it your last skate or not? What are you plans for the future?
Pang: We probably go home first and have some rest, and try to join some ice show.
Q: It was a long season , there were lots of ups and downs. What would you take from it for the next season, for your career?
Szolkowy : We have taken a lot of experience from this season, to overcome all the ups and downs, each time to get to the competition, especially like we did, after the last several years we came and won. And this experience gave us lots as a pair and as people.
Q: P/T you were watching the performance of the Germans very closely. What did you think about it?
Pang: It's not the first time we compete with S/S, we're old friends. Before we went to the rink we knew that they skated well, but we didn't see more and just wanted to skate the best. I think that it's got for the ISU and for the sport if there's a high level of the competition.
Q: Are you going to compete more, or is it the last of your performances?
Szolkowy : This is not the last competition, we're going further, and our next big goal is Sochi.
If you go to the ice-shows - does that mean that you're going to compete or not?
You also skated to "Impossible dream" - what's your impossible dream?
(Me : to gain some speed and get clean edges)
Pang : The plan after this season is not decided yet. It was an impossible dream, because when we started to skate and compete, it was a dream. And we know that out of all the people who start to skate there are very few who manage to stay at such high level. We continue and do this because we're keeping this dream. It's impossible because it's hard work, and I think it's the charming point of figure skating.
Q: What makes you love figure skating so much that you give so much to it?
sawchenko : Maybe we're born for figure skating. |
