Are the birthday presents for Yuna sent to Pakistan?
Yuna's birthday presents are sent to Pakistan, not to Canada.
Her fans prepared the most wonderful present for her, who is having her birthday on the 9/5. They are about to help the suffering Pakistani children. According to DC Inside Kim Yuna gallery, the members are chipping in for a donation under Yuna's name to UNICEF in order to help Pakistan children suffering in the midst of flood disaster.
They began collecting since 8/12, when Yuna twitted to her following fans a message "Flood-affected children in north-western Pakistan urgently need aid - Help @UNICEF help these children."
At hearing the news, they immediately opened a bank account and decided to collect and give. The total contribution chipped in b/w 8/13 and 9/2 is 4,827,048 Won (about US$4,500), and they are planning on accepting donations until 9/5 midnight before they send it to UNICEF under "Yuna"'s name.
The fan whose ID is ‘빅휀’ and organizing this champaign, says the donation is made in amounts that is meaningful; the number of people who donated 22,856 Won, inspired by the total score Yuna won at the Olympics is greatest, and it is followed by the number of people who donated 19,900 Won, her birth year.
빅휀 said "I was contemplating what present would the the most meaningful for Yuna who is an active philanthropist (indirect translation) and the first ever female athlete UNICEF International Goodwill Ambassador, and I (decided this would be it and) started this donation campaign."
Yuna too has donated about US$1.8 million for the last 4 years for young Korean figure skaters, low income family children, UNICEF, etc including her recent donation of US$10,000 on 8/7, the award money she received from the US Korean-American support foundation.
