*Haven Denney/Brandon Frazier USA - Fifth at the senior pairs competition at U.S. Nationals, Denney/Frazier are looking strong and hoping to improve from their fourth place finish last year with a medal this year.
*Lina Fedorova/Maxim Miroshkin RUS - Possibly the team to call the favorites, the new Russian junior champs have had a hot season, winning the Junior Grand Prix Final on top of the Russian Junior Championships.
*Kamilla Gainetdinova/Ivan Bich RUS - Bronze at Russian Juniors, they were 11th last year at this event. And yeah, they have side-by-side triple lutzes.
*Brittany Jones/Ian Beharry CAN - The new Canadian pair formed with two former Canadian junior champions were fourth at the senior pairs event at Canadians. They won the title their first time out in competition this season at JGP Austria.
*Margaret Purdy/Michael Marinaro CAN - With two JGP golds this season, the former Canadian junior champs look to move up from fifth place last year.
*Britney Simpson/Matthew Blackmer USA - The U.S. junior champs, tenth last year, are hoping that their new side-by-side triple salchows will be good to them this week.
*Evgenia Tarasova/Vladimir Morozov RUS - Anyone who follows figure skating knows the names Tarasova and Morozov well, but these two are not the ones you're familiar with. The Russian junior silver medlaists are making their debut at Junior Worlds this week.
*Xiaoyu Yu/Yang Jin CHN - They are the defending silver medalists, but the newly-crowned Chinese champs seem to have taken a few steps back this season.
