Lithuanian figure skater Povilas Vanagas said that he and his wife and partner Margarita Drobiazko rejected a coaching proposal of Marina Zoueva to join her team in Canton. “Zoueva didn’t talk with us directly. She asked about us one Lithuanian judge,” said Vanagas to RSport agency. “At the moment we don’t think about serious coaching career. So we just said thanks, but no.” Vanagas continued. The athlete said that he and his wife found out about the conflict of Shpilband and Zoueva “only yesterday morning.” Margarita Drobiazko and Povilas Vanagas are 2000 World and two-time, 2000&2006, European bronze medalists in ice dancing. In recent years they perform in various ice shows and TV projects, mostly in Russia. The Lithuanian press also quotes the President of the Figure Skating Federation of Lithuania Lilia Vanagene, who reported that at the moment officials have not yet decided who will work with Lithuanian ice dance team Isabella Tobias/Deividas Stagniunas. Currently the skaters are on vacation.
