Alexei Mishin, the coach of Evgeniy Plushenko, spoke to Sport Express about his student's plans for the future.
Russia's arguably best-ever skater Evgeniy Plushenko is at a crucial crossroads now.
On the one hand, the skater has achieved everything one can acheive in sports and numerous injuries hint it is time to put an end to his amateur sports career.
On the other hand, Plushenko is still striving to win and has everything to do it.
Disappointed with Russia's stumbling on the international scene, the skater considers a continuation of his career.
According to Alexei Mishin, Evgeniy Plushenko will return to action the coming days.
"Plushenko is going to take part in an exhibition skating in Hungary and so he will come to train at least a week before that," said Mishin to Sport Express.
"I had to liven his medical examination and insist that he should be operated on this summer."
"The coach and the sportsman are always bound up with financial relations."
"My students - Plushenko, Yagudin, Urmanov - never cheated me so I tought it was my duty to help Plushenko with his knee problem."
"The problem proved to be a major one as his knee joint needed immediate treatment."
"Plushenko's decision to continue his career had nothing to do with this - he had to be operated on anyway."
"As far as I know some people thought he was just trying to attract more attention by doing this."
"As for Stephane Lambiel who wanted me to coach him, I said a "no" to him as I don't know what Plushenko's decision will be."
"If he chooses to quit amateur sports I will take charge of Lambiel."
Mishin肯定了小普复出的消息，并且愿意继续指导他，前些日子小普作膝盖手术也是Mishin建议的。但他关于教练与选手之间永远只会以金钱关系维系的论调实在令人 。
最有意思的是最后两句：‘兰比尔想让我做他的教练（实际上小兰同学已经参加过不少次Mishin的夏令营，主要目的是提高跳跃的稳定性），我拒绝了他，因为我还不清楚普鲁申科的决定。’
‘如果他（普）选择退役，我将会执教兰比尔。’
