一篇本田的访谈
Which sports do you like in addition to figure skating?
I like playing billiards with my friends. I like driving too.
You have lived in foreign counties for five years. Would you tell me about your overseas life?
For the first year I had lived in the United States and worked with a Russian coach. At first I needed to learn English. Not writing but hearing and speaking actually helped me to improve my verbal ability. And movies also helped me to do because there are no subscription in the United States.
Do you take care of diet?
I eat all my favorite food including chocolate in on-season. Training is so hard on the ice that I don't put on weight. But during I stay in Japan, I would take exercise as much as I can for keeping my weight.
Would you tell me about your regular exercise?
I concentrate my attention on my upper body in my exercise because I always strengthen my foot on the ice. I also use a jump rope for jump power.
How do you conquer pressure?
I stand alone on the ice in front of a large audience. So I try to enjoy the situation. Driving releases me from all kinds of stress. I keep on driving to my heart's content.
How long a day are you on the ice?
Now I train two hours a day on the ice. In former days I trained 10 hours a day. But I noticed how much I concentrate on training is more important than how long I train on the ice. When I am out of condition, I only train good skills and leave the ice in 30 minutes.
