White felt it was just bad luck for some of the skaters.
“Sometimes, it’s bad luck, or it’s bad timing,” he said. “You put a lot of stress on the body in figure skating. It’s really unfortunate. All you can do is try to take care of your body.”
Davis pointed out that the scheduling of the Grand Prix season may take its toll on skaters.
“It’s a difficult point of the season for all figure skaters,” she said, referring to the six-event Grand Prix series that begins in November and ends with the final in December, with a globe-trotting traveling schedule.
“Heading straight to the finals is a difficult task. Later on in the season, we might see more prepared, healthier skaters.”
