俄D/S讲关于新节目“背后的故事”(最开始不是选的化妆舞会哦~半路改的~):
Question- As far as I know, it was completely different for the free dance and you have to put aside the initial idea?
Oksana: First, we picked Shindler's List soundtrack for the free program. Again, our choreographer suggested the idea, and we were intrigued. The characters were a concentration camp prisoner and a girl who died but comes to him in his memories. It was new and unusual, but we probably couldn't express it in dance. When Tatiana Tarasova, the team's consultant, saw the parts of this program, she didn't understand it and didn't value it [much]. When we tried to explain to her what we were talking about, she was fair to note, "I don't want to hear anything, I want to see everything." Overall, she was right. It's not like we will be explaining to the audience what we are skating.
Maybe, it wasn't the right time for such a global subject, but most likely we'll try to do an exhibition to it. Tarasova has been helping us for a while, and after the discussion, she offered to put a new free dance to Waltz Masquarade. To be honest, I wasn't enthusiastic at first, but then... You can say, they made me fall in love with it. I didn't fell in love with the program, I started to like it while we worked on it.
Maxim: Since the skaters used this music (Masquarade) often, we have to come up with the original idea. Our choreographer, Petukhov, offered the theme of "unequal marriage." It didn't mean the age of the characters. It was about rich girl getting married to a "party" guy who is self-centered and is used to taking everything fromlife. The groom made a deal with the bride's mommy and daddy. He needs money, not love. So, this is the marriage. The miserable girl's life is ruined since there were no divorces in 19th century. This is what we are skating. |
