You just have to be more creative, and use more difficult steps, hops and turns. A .5 loop isn't the only thing you can stick in a sequence -- Mazurkas are a great option (especially if the second jump in your sequence is an Axel). Skaters will have to drop their Mohawks and start doing brackets instead -- a bracket acheives the same purpose as a Mohawk (1/2 turn on the same foot), except you do it by turning in to the circle instead of out (unlike a Mohawk), which makes it more difficult. And there are many other simple steps, hops, and turns skaters can use or create to use instead of 3-turns or Mohawks.
[Stroking has always been banned in sequences under CoP, same with crossovers.]
From the video links above:
D&D's 2A+2A+SEQ is no longer a SEQ under the new rule. It was done 2A, top hops, 3-turn, 2A.
Binshu Xu's 2A/2A + SEQ is still valid. It was a 2A, toe hops, 2A.
S&S's 3t/3t + SEQ won't be legitimate. It was done with a 3t, step forward, mohawk, cross in front, 3t. Mohawk is not allowed in the new rule.
ETA: Pang & Tong's 2A/2A + SEQ won't be legit either.
